I hope you are doing well during this COVID-19 pandemic. Life has changed for many of you, and I want you to know that I’m praying for you and am here to help if needed.
I know that this situation is causing a lot of stress, grief, pain, and loss for many people. Just the economic pain for most people is enormous. Even though there is a lot of change and difficulty right now, much good will come from this situation.
With sports, schools, and pretty much all activities canceled, families must spend time with each other. That is a good thing! If you have kids at home, this is an ideal time to get to know them better. Eat dinner together. Play together. Do a puzzle. Engage.
I think it was Sir Winston Churchill that first said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” He knew a thing or two about living in the midst of crisis. We should learn from him.
Don’t waste this providential gift from the Lord to your family.
Additionally, with our church not being able to meet right now and no AWANA program, you must lead your children spiritually. Again, that is something that you should be doing anyway, but now it is thrust upon you! J Again, don’t waste this providential gift from the Lord.
Husbands, pray with your wives. Pray for the healing of this country and that the COVID-19 virus would stop spreading. Pray for the salvation of souls. Pray for our government leaders who are making some difficult decisions each day. Most wives would welcome that leadership from their husbands.
Fathers, when you gather the kids on Sunday to watch the Livestream (hint, hint), understand that you have an excellent opportunity to start that family worship habit that you have been putting off. There are many free resources for family worship available right now. One good one for music is Seeds Family Worship. They have some great free resources right now.
I know you may feel extra stress right now, and this seems like just an added burden. But it isn’t an added burden. It is an opportunity to fulfill your calling. With God’s help, each of you are the right man for the job.
Please, don’t waste this pandemic.
